Тендерна сегрегація на ринку праці: головні ознаки та причини

Abstract

The article discusses the problems of gender segregation in the labor market, its main features and causes. The author provides a general definition of gender segregation and its two forms: horizontal and vertical. Official data on employment in Ukraine and salaries by professional field are presented. The reasons for gender segregation are also explained. Two theories are presented: the economic theory of human capital and market and labor segmentation, and the non-economic gender theory, which justifies the existence of the gender division of labor.
