Abstract

The article examines the process of creating a short documentary video in the interview format focused on the lives of Ukrainians in Munich. The study analyzes the role of interviews as a primary tool of documentary video journalism and outlines the main stages of production – from concept development and question preparation to filming, editing, and final postproduction. Special attention is paid to both technical and creative aspects of working with participants, narrative structure, and the creation of emotionally authentic content. The research emphasizes that the interview format enables the representation of migrants’ personal experiences, their adaptation to a new social environment, and the preservation of cultural identity abroad, while also serving as a documentary record of contemporary social processes
