- ДокументAssessing SSR Relative Data Capacity(UKRCON, 2021) Обод, І. І.; Свид, І. В.; Заволодько, Г. Е.; Мальцев, О. С.; Бакуменко, Б. В.; Чумак, В. С.Secondary Surveillance Radars are widely used in many aspects of users’ information support, such as air object recognition and radio beacon tracking. The study considers a two-channel data transmission system as an SSR model and assesses its relative data capacity subject to intentional (correlated and uncorrelated) and intra-system interference as well as fluctuation (masking effect) noise in the request and response channels. It is shown that the aircraft transponder design built on the principles of a single-channel queuing system with denial of service has a significant impact on Secondary Surveillance Radar relative data capacity and the information security of both the aircraft transponder and the entire Secondary Surveillance Radar.
- ДокументEstimation of the Spatial Coordinates of Air Objects in Synchronous Radar Networks for Airspace Observation(PIC S&T, 2021) Свид, І. В.; Обод, І. І.; Мальцев, О. С.; Воргуль, О. В.; Чумак, В. С.; Бакуменко, Б. В.In the presented work, a study was made of the influence of errors in assessing the location of receiving points of a multi-position radar system, as well as mismatch of time scales of points for receiving signals of a multi-position radar system, due to the finite stability of time generators in the considered synchronous information radar network for observing airspace, on the accuracy of assessing the location of observed air objects. This showed the possibility of implementing synchronous radar networks for observing the airspace on the basis of the existing fleet of primary and secondary radars.
- ДокументFrequency Efficiency Evaluation of Query Airspace Surveillance Systems(PIC S&T, 2021) Старокожев, С. В.; Ткач, М. Г.; Глущенко, А. О.; Даценко, О. О.; Чернишов, М. В.; Чумак, В. С.In this work, there was carried out an evaluation of frequency efficiency of both the interrogation signal channel and the response signal channel in case of intra-system and intentional (correlated and uncorrelated), as well as fluctuation interference. The evaluation based on the representation of interrogation radar systems for observing airspace in the form of two-channel systems for transmitting information of interrogation signals and response signals. It is shown that the use of interrogation signals and response signals in the form of an interval-time and positional code leads to the need for a significant receiving path bandwidth expansion of both the aircraft transponder and the interrogating radar system as a whole. This caused by the requirements for obtaining sharp edges of the received signals, which is necessary for decoding them and leads to a significant decrease in the frequency efficiency of the considered information systems and, as a consequence, to a decrease in the noise immunity of both the request channel and the response channel of the considered information systems.
- ДокументFusion of Discrete Evaluation of the State Vector of Air Objects Based on 4D Measurement(PIC S&T, 2019) Обод, І. І.; Свид, І. В.; Мальцев, О. С.; Заволодько, Г. Е.; Павлова, Д. Б.; Майстренко, Г. В.The paper shows that successive transition to 4D measurements of the air objects location by each surveillance system included in the information network allows to create a partially synchronous information network of observation systems. This allows to coordinate the processes of both receiving and processing data in scattered information systems, which predetermines the resolution of technical contradictions that cannot be resolved in existing asynchronous information networks of observation systems, in particular, to merge data from observation systems during the filtration phase of an air object consequence, exclude tertiary data processing in the information network of surveillance systems.
- ДокументOptimization of Secondary Surveillance Radar Data Processing(MECS Press, 2019) Стрельницький, О. О.; Свид, І. В.; Обод, І. І.; Мальцев, О. С.; Заволодько, Г. Е.Secondary surveillance radar (SSR) performs one of the main functions of information service for consumers of the airspace control system. To improve the quality the SSR information is processed using modern information technology. The use of a consistent procedure for processing surveillance system data, due to the functionally completed stages of processing, made it possible to formalize the data processing procedure. However, this significantly limited, and in some cases excluded, the opportunities for inter-stage optimization of data processing. The SSR data processing structure synthesis and analysis are considered in this paper making it possible to perform a joint optimization of signal processing and primary processing of data, as well as to improve the quality of data processing.
- ДокументOptimizing Data Processing in Identification Friend or Foe Systems(Telecommunications and Radio Engineering, 2022) Zavоlоdkо, G. E.; Обод, І. І.; Свид, І. В.This paper proposes, in accordance with the Neyman−Pearson criterion, an optimal framework of data processing in airborne object detection by identification friend or foe (IFF) systems with due regard to the current IFF system design as a single-channel fault-tolerant queuing system, which dictates multichannel reception of request signals and imposes limitations on aircraft transponder availability factor. We consider two signal-processing models with two alternative implementations in each one: (1) cross-channel merging of previous channel decisions on tracking either request signals or their impulse components and (2) either preliminary or subsequent inter-period processing of response signals. Data processing is optimized for both temporal and spatial request signal parameters, the aircraft transponder availability factor also being considered. The preliminary inter-channel merging of request/response signal-pulse component detection results proves to be preferable to the current algorithm of subsequent merging request/response signal detection results as this procedure improves the quality of signal detection and reduces the dependence of detection probability on the aircraft transponder availability factor.
- ДокументSecondary Surveillance Radar Response Channel Information Security Improvement Method(DESSERT, 2020) Свид, І. В.; Обод, І. І.; Мальцев, О. С.; Глущенко, А. О.The article proposes a method for improving the information security of the Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR) response channel in which broadband signals are used as response signals, thereby significantly reducing the detection range of such response signals with the required quality indicators by means of radio intelligence. This practically eliminates the possibility for the interested party to use the signals response aircraft responder for early detection of airborne objects and measuring their coordinates and, as a result, allows to exclude be an act of unauthorized use of aircraft responder SSR data by an interested party, and, therefore, increase information security of the SSR response channel.
- ДокументWAM Systems: Comparative Analysis of Information Support Quality(PIC S&T, 2020) Обод, І. І.; Свид, І. В.; Мальцев, О. С.; Заволодько, Г. Е.; Леонов, С. Ю.The paper considers ways to improve the quality of information support for airspace control systems and air traffic control with the help of wide-area multi-position monitoring systems. A comparative analysis has shown that the accuracy of estimating air object coordinates by the wide area multilateration system under consideration is significantly higher than that provided by currently available wide area multilateration systems. It is shown that the introduction of active and passive methods for creating wide-area multi-position observation systems significantly broadens the number of available air object coordinate estimation techniques and, as a result, enhances the quality of information support by providing its users with the opportunity of choosing an optimal estimation method for various primary measurements of received signal parameters. Active wide area multilateration systems significantly expand the number of methods available for solving the problem of adequate information support to airspace control system users; use of secondary surveillance radar aircraft responders allows estimating air object coordinates by both single-position and multi-position method.
