Публікація Identification of megaloblastic anemia cells through the use of image processing techniques(IJCBR, 2018) Babker, A.; Lyashenko, V.Objective: Our aim is to show the possibility of using different image processing techniques for blood smear analysis. Also our aim is to determine the sequence of image processing techniques to identify megaloblastic anemia cells. Methods: We consider blood smear image. We use a variety of image processing techniques to identify megaloblastic anemia cells. Among these methods, we distinguish the modification of the color space and the use of wavelets. Results: We developed a sequence of image processing techniques for blood smear image analysis and megaloblastic anemia cells identification. As a characteristic feature for megaloblastic anemia cells identification, we consider neutrophil image structure. We also use the morphological methods of image analysis in order to reveal the nuclear lobes in neutrophil structure. Conclusion: We can identify the megaloblastic anemia cells. To do this, we use the following sequence of blood smear image processing: color image modification, change of the image contrast, use of wavelets and morphological analysis of the cell structure.Публікація The methodology of wavelet analysis as a tool for cytology preparations image processing(DergiPark, 2016) Babker, A.; Lyashenko, V.; Kobylin, O.Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the possibility of using wavelet analysis for processing images of cytology preparations. Material and Methods: A set of different images of cytology preparations were analyzed through changes in their contrast and application of the methodology of the wavelet analysis. Results: Developed procedure of processing of cytology preparations images. Procedure of processing of cytology preparations images allows to qualitatively (in terms of their visualization) allocating: cells’ edges, cell nuclei, revealing in more detail textural features of cells’ images, which allows analyzing cell structure. Conclusion: Consider the possibility and feasibility issues of applying wavelet analysis for processing cytology preparations images. This improves the quality of the analysis of cytology preparations images. Among the many medical imaging follows allocate the image of blood preparations. This is due to the fact that study of the image of blood preparations allows to conduct a comprehensive diagnosis of human health state. However, the specific complexity of visualization process of blood preparations and their subsequent processing with the use of automated processing determine the necessity to study different possibilities to use any approaches for image processing. We consider the image of blood preparations is a complex image. For image analysis of blood preparations’ structure, we use the method of color segmentation. For image analysis, we also use the methodology of the human-machine. This allows you to clarify the structure of the image of blood preparations. We give some of examples that show the effectiveness of the proposed image processing of blood preparations.Публікація Using of Color Model and Contrast Variation in Wavelet Ideology for Study Megaloblastic Anemia Cells(Scientific Research Publishing, 2017) Lyashenko, V.; Babker, A.Processing and analyzing of medical images is one of the priority research areas. At the same time, the processing of images of cells occupies a special place. This is due to the fact that such studies allow for a comprehensive diagnosis of the state of human health, identify and prevent the development of diseases in the early stages. We investigate the effectiveness of using wavelet analysis in color models, taking into account the preliminary change in the contrast of the input image. We consider the HSV color model and the image contrast modification procedure, which is based on the histogram change in the specified range with gamma correction. As a criterion for choosing parameters for changing the contrast of the image, we consider the entropy of the image. We also showed the advisability of using the value of the entropy index for the subsequent improvement of image analysis based on the wavelet ideology. We examined the general sequence of action for the analysis of image of megaloblastic anemia cells. In this connection, first of all image processing of cytology preparations holds a special place as one of the common set of microimages in medicine. However, the specific complexity of visualization process of cytology preparations and their subsequent processing with the use of automated processing determines the necessity to study new possibilities to use new approaches to image processing. Exactly this fact was the basis for considering the possibility to use wavelet analysis as a tool for processing cytology preparations images. This is especially important in clinical and experimental pathology. This is due to the fact that it is important to get the most accurate diagnosis reliably and in real time. Therefore, various data needs to be processed. Such data may include images taken under a microscope. The paper considers the possibility of using wavelet analysis to study images made under a microscope. Among such images, we examined of cytological preparations images. We made a visual comparison for different methods of analyzing the original images. But this requires the results of processing the original images, which provide additional information. To do this, we investigate the possibility of using wavelet analysis in color models RGB and HSV. We showed the importance of using the HSV model for more information. It is shown that the procedure for changing the contrast in the HSV model is better than the contrast change procedure in the RGB model when using wavelet analysis.
