Abstract

This thesis aims to show significance of Vladimir Vernadsky's concept of the noosphere and Erich Jantsch's concept of a self-organizing universe as a natural scientific understanding of global evolutionism. Main component of this thesis is Vladimir Vernadsky's research in which he elaborated on the concept of the biosphere as a planetary and cosmic phenomenon. The thesis ends on a reference to evolutionary thermodynamics and an answer to the question about the possibility of a universal process of development.
