Аналіз сучасних стандартів відеокодування

Abstract

This paper describes modern digital video compression standards used in streaming platforms. Particular attention is given to widely used standards developed by the International Telecommunication Union and the International Organization for Standardization, including H.264/AVC and H.265/HEVC. The study also examines open video codecs such as VP9 developed by Google and the AV1 standard created by Alliance for Open Media. A comparative analysis of these codecs is presented with respect to compression efficiency and applicability to streaming services. The results show that H.264 remains widely used due to its compatibility, while newer codecs such as H.265 and AV1 provide higher compression efficiency for high-resolution video streaming
