They act as a universal equivalent in the exchange of goods and services and ensure the efficient interaction of economic agents. The emergence of money was the result of the development of social division of labor and commodity production. In modern conditions money performs a number of important functions such as a measure of value, a medium of circulation, a means of payment, a store of value and world money. The transformation of traditional forms of money into electronic and digital forms reflects the changes in the global financial system and the development of financial technologies.
