Abstract

Cryptocurrency is increasingly recognized as an important payment method worldwide, yet its regulation varies significantly between countries. This paper examines the role of cryptocurrency as a payment method and compares regulatory frameworks across various countries. Despite Ukraine's impressive adoption of cryptocurrency, the absence of a clear regulatory framework exposes investors and users to substantial risks. The analysis includes regulatory approaches from the United States, European Union, and Japan, emphasizing the critical need for effective measures against cybercrime and enhanced cybersecurity. Ultimately, the paper advocates for a tailored regulatory framework in Ukraine that aligns with international best practices to foster trust and safety in the cryptocurrency market.
