Abstract

This study addresses the problem of sparse equilibrium packing of soft clusters within a rectangular container. Objects within each cluster are characterized by variable spatial forms within predefined elasticity parameter limits, provided their area remains constant. The mathematical model accounts for free translations and continuous rotations of the objects, subject to the objective of maximizing inter-cluster distances. An algorithmic approach has been developed to identify locally optimal solutions. Computational experiments are presented to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method.
