In this work, an unsteady slow viscous flow in a doubly connected domain is considered. A distinctive feature of the stream function formulation is the presence of an unknown constant, which is determined from the condition ensuring the uniqueness of the pressure. To solve the problem, the R-function method combined with the superposition principle is proposed
