Abstract

This paper presents a structured analysis of the design principles and system architecture of loitering munitions. These systems integrate loitering capability, real-time reconnaissance, and precision strike functions. The main structural and functional subsystems are systematized, including the airframe, propulsion system, avionics, communication modules, and payload. A classification based on operational range is proposed, distinguishing tactical, operational-tactical, and long-range systems. Key engineering trade-offs between mass, energy efficiency, and resistance to electronic warfare are identified
