Abstract

A digital method for narrowband filtering of ultrasonic signals is proposed to detect gas leaks in high-pressure pipelines. The approach utilizes complex variable functions to perform simultaneous filtering and determination of quadrature components of the signal envelope. By shifting the spectrum to the zero-frequency region, the method significantly reduces hardware complexity compared to traditional analog systems. It is demonstrated that the complex envelope can be calculated directly after low-pass filtering, which optimizes computational efficiency. This technique ensures high stability and precision in isolating signals from noise for industrial diagnostic applications
