Abstract

In large cities, transportation systems are complex dynamic systems with many interacting elements, including cars, public transport, traffic lights, pedestrians, and road infrastructure. The paper considers the main approaches to the mathematical modeling of processes occurring in such systems. A classical macroscopic traffic model is chosen, which represents the fundamental law of conservation of the number of vehicles in the macroscopic theory of traffic flow.
