dc.description.abstract	This work is devoted to the analysis of the construction of local and corporate communication networks. The main schemes of the department, campus and megalopolis networks are considered. A universal cable system is constructed in which horizontal and vertical subsystems are present. The purpose of the Data Link layer and its sublayers is analyzed in detail. The components of the subsystems of the structured cable system are considered.
