Abstract

This work focuses on the design of a book in the style of an ancient herbal, considering the physical and technological aspects of its creation. It describes the use of materials and printing techniques to mimic the aging process, with particular attention to paper density, cover textures, and color reproduction. By combining modern softcover technologies with vintage aesthetics, the project demonstrates the possibility of creating a tangible “historical” artifact that conveys the atmosphere of centuries-old botanical manuscripts.
