Abstract

This paper evaluates the efficiency of the Siemens SIMATIC S7-1500 programmable logic controller in industrial automation systems. Key performance metrics, including cycle time, response time and communication determinism in PROFINET networks, are analyzed. The controller is compared with other PLC series such as S7-1200 and S7-300/400 in terms of performance and scalability. The results demonstrate that S7-1500 provides high processing speed, flexible configuration and reliable communication, making it suitable for complex and high-speed industrial applications in the context of Industry 4.0.
