Abstract

Groundwater is an important source of fresh water for drinking, agriculture, and technical needs. Accurate measurement of groundwater depth is essential in hydrogeology, construction, and environmental monitoring. This paper reviews common methods for determining groundwater depth and outlines their main advantages and limitations. Special attention is paid to traditional hydrogeological methods and alternative approaches based on environmental indicators and field observations. An integrated approach combining geological, ecological, and instrumental data is considered promising. Its application can improve the reliability of groundwater detection and reduce the cost of exploration.
