dc.description.abstract	The aim of this work is to study the principles and methodologies of numerical modeling of photonic crystal waveguides with triangular and hexagonal lattices. These structures have wide photonic band gaps and can provide common band gaps for two polarizations, which makes them promising for use in integrated optics and other applications. Dispersion characteristics, spatial distributions of the electromagnetic field components and spectral characteristics of photonic crystal waveguides have been calculated.
