This work reveals the importance of using a game engine in the process of game development. There were considered currently leading engines, Unity and Unreal Engine 4. Their advantages and disadvantages were highlighted. It was concluded that Unity is more suitable for mobile games and for development in small teams. This game engine is also highly customizable and flexible, which allows developers to create unique games with a variety of features and mechanics. Unity also has a large community of developers who share tips, tutorials, and assets, which can help beginners get started and experienced developers save time. Overall, the choice of game engine will depend on the specific needs of the project and the experience of the development team.
