Abstract

This work discusses the integrity and recoverability of medical data through the Soft Delete mechanism, using the Skinera application as a case study. In healthcare, accidental data loss can have serious clinical and legal consequences, making traditional “hard delete” methods inadequate. The study examines how Soft Delete provides a safety layer by marking records as inactive instead of physically removing them, enabling reliable restoration when needed. Within the Skinera application, this approach ensures compliance with data protection standards, preserves historical records, and maintains a complete audit trail. Additionally, it enhances system reliability by reducing the risk of irreversible data loss and supporting safer data management practices in clinical environments.
