This shift enables the execution of complex, resource-intensive tasks – such as real-time multimedia processing, semantic segmentation, and generative image modification – without the need for specialized desktop software. Furthermore, the study addresses current challenges related to data privacy and network latency, highlighting the potential of edge computing and emerging web standards, such as WebAssembly and WebGPU, to optimize future performance and security.
