Вплив воєнних дій на забруднення важкими металами ґрунтів харківської та сумської областей: аналіз перенесення у харчовий ланцюг та стратегії відновлення

Abstract

This work is devoted to the impact of military actions on heavy metal contamination of soils in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions of Eastern Ukraine as a factor of environmental and public safety. The purpose is to analyze changes in the concentrations of lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), nickel (Ni), copper (Cu), and zinc (Zn) in soils and to assess their potential impact. A significant increase in heavy metal concentrations in areas of active hostilities was identified compared to the pre-war period. The findings highlight the formation of local zones of long-term ecological risk and emphasize the necessity of systematic environmental monitoring and such land restoration measures as phytoremediation.
