In these theses is concerned the impact thatmade on the modern Ukrainian language and society. The Cossacks’ role in the development of the Ukrainian vocabulary, proverbs and folklore during XVI–XVIII centuries is described. The influence on Ukrainian literature in XVII century is indicated. The importance of Cossacks chronicles in terms of the evolvement of Ukrainian language is defined. The effect of zaporizhian routine on Ukrainian names is shown.
