dc.description.abstract	This work is devoted to the identification of the main features of the American model of the information society. The American model is one of the leading in the world, so the relevance of its study is high. The main advantages of this model are the focus on the development of freedom and entrepreneurial initiative, the high level of IT technologies development, the support of communications with consumers and the population in general. Besides that, the American model also has some disadvantages, such as the growth of social inequality, insufficient protection of vulnerable sections of the population, privatization and liberalization of the information technology market
