Abstract

The document outlines the principles of the unloading and power limitation system of VVER-1000 reactor plants. The algorithms for automatically reducing the thermal power of the power unit in the event of the main circulation or turbofeed pumps being turned off, as well as when the network frequency changes, are considered. The reactor control mechanism is described by moving the control elements to the core to prevent the emergency protection from being triggered. Special attention is paid to the method of calculating the relative thermal power using dimensionless correction factors. Specific numerical parameters for power unit No. 1 of the Zaporizhzhia NPP and formulas for periodic adjustment of neutron power values are given.
