Abstract

Traditional qualitative methods often struggle to balance strict deadlines and budgets in IT projects. This study proposes a two-stage mathematical optimization model combining the critical path method (CPM) and linear programming to minimize total costs without delaying completion. By identifying and shifting non-critical tasks within their time reserves, managers can utilize more cost-effective execution methods. The developed model can be easily implemented using standard spreadsheet solvers and integrated into corporate project management systems
