Abstract

This paper examines the legal framework for the liability of individuals involved in the development of artificial intelligence systems. As AI technologies integrate into various sectors, determining accountability for algorithmic errors remains a significant legal challenge. The study focuses on specific roles including architects, software engineers, data scientists, and model trainers. By analysing the EU Artificial Intelligence Act and Ukrainian strategies, the research explores how professional negligence principles apply to each participant. Special attention is given to «diffuse responsibility» in complex projects. The findings suggest the necessity of clear legislative definitions for technical roles to ensure a balanced distribution of legal risks.
