Abstract

This work is about conditions of the radio waves propagation within an apartment building. This could be relevant for the construction of a "smart entrance" by connecting existing "smart apartments." Such integration opens up new possibilities for comfort and security. Some radio technologies available for civilian use are considered, and their advantages and disadvantages for indoor communication are demonstrated. Significant signal attenuation and other difficulties are noted. It is argued that the problem can be solved through a complex and unconventional approach
