The scattering of plane electromagnetic waves from a cone with longitudinal slots

Abstract

The paper deals with the boundary-value problem of scattering of a plane electromagnetic wave from a semi-infinite ideally conducting cone with longitudinal slots cut at regular intervals. The problem is solved using the Kontorovich-Lebedev integral transformation and the semi-inverse method. In particular cases of a semitransparent cone, a single narrow conical ribbon, and a cone with narrow slot, an analytical solution is derived that is used to study the structure and polarization of the scattered field, as well as the field behavior in the vicinity of the cone vertex.
