Transient plasmons dynamics in metallic structures

Abstract

Theoretical investigation of the excitation of surface plasmon resonances of metallic nanowires and nanoshells by external transient pulses is presented. To solve the problem, we used an accurate mathematical approach based on the Laplace transform, which allowed us to obtain analytic solution. Finding the inverse transform was based on the assessment of residues at singular points that correspond to the surface plasmon resonances of the studied objects.
