One of the directions of development of new devices is the change in its design features. This fully applies to the prospects for creating sub-millimeter magnetrons. The paper considers the design features of classical magnetrons. Ways of improving magnetrons are proposed. In particular, it is proposed toconsider a reversed magnetron. We note the design features of such magnetrons. For this, we highlight the different locations of the auto cathode.
