Multi-agent systems are a subfield of distributed artificial intelligence that is growing rapidly due to the flexibility and intelligence available to solve distributed problems. This chapter provides a brief overview of multi-agent systems. They cover various attributes such as architecture, communication, coordination strategies, decision making, and learning abilities.
