Particular attention is paid to the use of equipment for photographic capture of QR codes, barcodes and other visual markings on products in order to automate process of collecting and processing information. The main stages of printed circuit board production, such as design, manufacturing, component assembly, and testing, are considered. For each stage, specific data collection needs and possibilities of using photo capture technologies are analyzed. The advantages of using QR codes and barcodes to label products and components are described in detail. A comparative analysis of traditional methods of data collection, such as manual data entry, with automated methods based on the use of photo fixation equipment is also carried out.
