Abstract: The paper summarizes and develops the results obtained by the authors in [11, 33, 49, 50]. We compare the
efficiencies of some “superresolving” methods for estimation of a spatial spectrum of Gaussian noise in an
antenna array for the case of a finite-size sample in maximum likelihood estimates of their correlation matrices. The comparison is based on an analysis of exact and empirical random parameters distribution laws that determine the methods resolution by statistical and non-statistical criteria. Significant differences in these laws are shown owing to which conclusions about comparative merits of different methods, based on their asymptotic properties analysis, can change to opposite ones under conditions of small samples. Causes of the difference and the possibilities following from their analysis to improve the convergence rate of adaptive methods for noise sources direction-of-arrival estimation are studied.2015-01-01T00:00:00ZProperties of decelerating non-diffractive electromagnetic airy pulses

Abstract: The existence of electromagnetic pulses in time domain with the Airy function envelope is shown. The pulses
satisfy an equation similar to the Schrodinger equation but in which the time and space variables play opposite roles. The pulses are generated by an Airy time varying field at a source point and propagate in vacuum preserving their shape and magnitude. The pulse motion is according to a quadratic law with the velocity changing from infinity at the source point to zero in infinity. Abstract: Interest in the image content analysis has been motivated by expansion of imaging in manifold scopes of
activity, the availability of large image libraries, growth of multimedia applications, etc. One of the ways for
partial elimination of a semantic gap between low-level visual features and high-level human concept is to
analyze spatial properties of image parts specifically induced by segmentation. To provide a region-based
image retrieval with a query ‘ad exemplum’ (to wide extent), a new metric to compare arbitrary nested partitions is proposed. Abstract: The paper is devoted to researching the behavior of the emission spectrum of an electrodeless sulfur lamp when the parameters of the microwave field pumping a system are being changed. Some cases of changes in the magnitude and spatial position of the microwave field antinode are studied. The obtained results make it possible to control the output radiation of the lamp when parameters of the microwave field are changing and monitor the pumping energy on the basis of the emitted spectrum of the sulfur lamp.2011-01-01T00:00:00Z
